The sun came back out today, after the miserable cold of yesterday, and two became three as Sean from Bristol joined Dave M and myself for the two days. We were back on the track as you leave Instow, with another up and down along the River Torridge/Taw. Into Bideford a lovely little town, and over the river to turn back towards the very pretty town of Appledore, a nice stop here for tea and cake. It’s a shame that there were a number of electricity works going on as the town was very photographic, but not with red and white barriers everywhere. You pass the RNLI station and head around the headland which contains the Royal North Devon Golf Course and then back in to Westwood Ho. A fairly spralling seaside town, not exactly pretty, but functional. It was nice to get back along the Atlantic, with great views of Lundy, some great characters along the way. The grading ramps up again tomorrow as we head to Clovelly.
