Day 17 Padstow to Trenance. Sun, sea, sand, Saunas, coves and bays.

Grey skies out of Padstow but pleased to have the Mammuts (Boots) back on. This was a big day of change, the first signs of mining activity after a long walk back up the Camel Estuary, rolling pastures and cliff tops and then the first beautiful bay at Trevone. On to Harlyn bay, full of activity on a sunny Sunday with mad Brits braving the coldest of seas. Big guns cove, love that, Mother Ivy’s bay, Trevose head, and a stunning golf course at Trevose. Boobys bay, you have to love that, joins to Constantine bay and into Treyarnon. I am asking myself now, “are we there yet Dad” but we are not by a long shot. Peppar cove, warren cove, and fox cove are just waiting for someone to put their toes on them, which is easier said than done. Will’s rock makes me chuckle, and you drop into Porthcothan, so pretty. A long stretch along the cliff tops, seagulls and the odd person for company, and into Mawgan Porth and a bed for the night. Greated by the lovely Keith and Linda Smith who have flown down to take me out to dinner, now that is class. Just under 20 miles covered, great to be back out and the sun shone, which looks like it will not do for a few days now. Stunning change from rock and shale, to wide sandy beaches in the past 72 hours, and a feel of a more built up environment.

  1. Hi Jes:

I’m just ahead of you in Trevarrian; it took me two days to walk what you did in one. Well done and maybe I’ll see you on the Path tomorrow.

Grand photos – bringing back childhood memories! … especially around Trevose Lighthouse.
